There are four breaks in 2026: Term 1 (late March, around Hari Raya), the mid-year break (late May to early June), Term 2 (late August, around Merdeka), and the year-end break (December). Exact dates differ by one day between Group A and Group B states — see the table above.

Negeri mana Kumpulan A? (Which states are Group A?)

Group A is Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu — states where the school week runs Sunday to Thursday. Every other state (including Johor, Selangor, KL, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak) is Group B, with a Monday to Friday school week.

Bila cuti pertengahan tahun 2026? (When is the mid-year break 2026?)

The mid-year break runs 22 May to 6 June for Group A, and 23 May to 7 June for Group B. It is the longest mid-year holiday.

Bila cuti akhir tahun 2026? (When is the year-end break 2026?)

The year-end break starts 4 December (Group A) or 5 December (Group B) and runs to 31 December 2026.

Johor follows the Group B calendar: Term 1 (21–29 Mar), Mid-Year (23 May–7 Jun), Term 2 (29 Aug–6 Sep) and Year-End (5–31 Dec).
